NHS Treatment

Please see below to determine if we are currently accepting NHS patients. If it is blue then we are, if it is red then we are not.

The practice offers a full range of NHS treatments dependant upon the patient’s commitment to maintaining oral health.

Patients can request services, and express a preference of dentist via the receptionist depending on availability.

The NHS price structure changed in April 2006 with treatments falling into three bands. See NHS Prices for a break down of the new NHS fee structure on this page.

NHS Private Dentist West Sussex

Fees are due once your dental care starts

You may qualify for full or partial exemption from charges, please ask for advice.

Things you should know!

Missed Appointments
At NHS Dentist we do not charge for missed appointments or late cancellations for NHS work, if you fail to cancel an appointment without 24 hours notice TWICE (8 working hours notice so you would be expected to cancel a Monday early morning appointment by Friday lunchtime) we will no longer treat you. However we do charge for missed appointments for private treatment e.g. private hygienist – full cost.

Scale & Polish
We will provide you with a Scale & Polish if the dentist decides it is clinically necessary, you are not automatically entitled to this if they fill it is not required. Shoreham Dental Centre has the best oral health interests at heart and our Dentists will perform this if it is required. The treatment its self consists of removing plaque and tartar from the teeth, cleaning out the pockets between the teeth and the gums and polishing the teeth. There are those patients who have more serious periodontal problems may be referred by the to the hygienist with a view to performing a longer periodontal treatment if they feel that a basic scale will not resolve an ongoing oral health issue.
